35th Annual Sacramento Women Take Back the Night!

On October 11th, Sacramento is taking to the streets for the 35th Annual Sacramento Women Take Back the Night! 

The 2014 Rally and March will be an evening of remembrance, celebration, and action to stand against all forms of violence against women and children. 

When: October 11th (Second Saturday)
Start Time: Resource Fair &  Rally: 5:00pm | March through Midtown: 8:00pm
Location: Sacramento Native American Health Center, Inc.– 2020 J Street, Sacramento, CA 95814

This is a FREE event – open to anyone interested in taking a stand to end violence against women.

At 5pm, the Resource Fair will kick-off the evening with information and resource tables staffed by our local co-sponsors, and will continue throughout the Rally to provide information about the crucial services offered in our community.

In celebration of Sacramento’s 35th Anniversary, we have an incredible Rally line-up – FEATURING: music by Keep it Lit and the Skanks Roots Project; remarks and emceeing by Keyko Torres-Oki | Performances by Sacramento Taiko Dan, Century Got Bars, Jovi Radtke, HK Poet, KC Shane, Ike Torres, Alejandra Fernandez-Garcia, Amber Lee of “Accordion Babes”, Fong Tran, Tanya Azari, and self-defense instructor and founder of Trade Your Fear for Anger, Midge Marino | Featured Speakers: Gayle Pitman, Ph.D., Author and Professor of Psychology and Women’s Studies at Sacramento City College, and Shaina Brown of the California Coalition Against Sexual Assault (CALCASA) | Survivor Speak-out | Community Art Project and more!

At 8pm, we will March through Midtown in protest of violence against women – a tradition that has taken place in Sacramento since 1979!

Come out, bring your friends and family for an incredible night of activism, energy, and commitment to end all forms of violence against women!
